About

Adyson Hart

Hi! My name is Adyson, I live on a beautiful 10 acre farm in North Plains. I have 7 dogs and a variety of different farm animals. I started training dogs when I was 13 and got my first working dog when I was 15! I went through a 3-month program that guided me through the world of dog training, but also taught me what the majority of trainers are missing these days. The program specialized in personal protection, advanced obedience, and learning to build drive, confidence and accuracy.

After going through the program, I got Chevy, she's a working-line Belgian Malinois, whose parents specialize in personal protection, dog sports, and advanced obedience. Her dad is a high drive working protection dog and her mom is an import from Mexico who is also high drive and does very well for protection and family living. I never fully understood what is was like to train a dog with that kind of caliber until I got her - it was a whole different experience. The whole aspect of training this kind of dog for a specific purpose blew me away; living with her is more like a partnership than raising a child.

The roots of our success was bonding, confidence, drive, and me being able to process the skills needed as a handler to be able to keep up with her and now slow her down. During our journey, I knew fully that training was my passion, through the difficult time working through her reactivity, to battling stubbornness and low interest, she prepared me for what I could face with clients' dogs. All of this to say that, training isn't just about solving problems and making your life easier. To you, your dog is your best friend for a short amount of time, but to your dog, you are their best friend for their entire life. You as the handler should always be striving to improve yourself so that your dog can better understand what you're asking for. If I had never improved myself, Chevy and I would never have reached our goals.
